Katherine von Stackelberg assumes leadership role for the Society for Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry global Science Committee

At the recent Society for Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) World Congress in Berlin, Germany, Dr. Katherine von Stackelberg assumed the role of Chair for the global Science Committee (SC).  She is currently the immediate past chair of the North America Science Committee, and brings that experience to the global SC with the goal of providing leadership for SETAC in identifying and contributing to the dialog on emerging scientific issues.  In addition to reviewing Pellston and other international workshops conducted by SETAC, the SC is also responsible for developing strategies, together with the Advisory Groups, on how SETAC as a professional society can best contribute to the use of science and scientific evidence to support sustainable decision making.  This is an exciting time for science-based policy development, and E Risk looks forward to working collaboratively to ensure a reliance on the best available science in decision making.
